New year wishes
Happy new year, everyone.
This year is 2022. I'm 68 years old, and the song From my way to our way can describe my life.
Live a Wonderful Life
- “The Bucket List” is a movie that described two patients with cancer who decided to realize their bucket list for the rest of their lives, which inspired me to be myself at 55.
- MEAN WELL has formed a distinct business philosophy and corporate culture, as like my motto: Hard-fought success sustains the future. Integrity fosters prosperity. It means that the corporate's life has no limit, but it has to become a sustainable benchmark enterprise. I am also developing in the three directions of "upward, good, and happy" and gradually adjusting life and work priorities.
- EstablishSDG Group websiteand proactively promote SDG Group's sustainable development idea. The goal is to cultivate more than 100 ESG companies by 2030.
Accomplish 10 Wishes
- 3 things you must do as a Taiwanese: climbing Jade Mountain, crossing Sun Moon Lake and cycling around the island have all been completed.
- Experience 6 things that I didn't do when I was young: skiing, diving, windsurfing, youth team, river climbing/diving, road running 10K, all of which have been completed now.
- The 10th wish “travel around the world”: Visiting countries/distributors where sales once accounted for 0.5% of the group, but still lacking South Africa (because our partners say it is not safe, it is expected to be completed in 2023)
Inherit the career and be a lifelong volunteer
- Public welfare and education are my lifelong career. To promote SDG ideas and create a better environment for the next generation.
- Obtain an EMBA degree, establish SDG Academy, inherit and cultivate more MEAN WELL talents (in progress, expected to be completed in 2023/6).
- Publish 3 Books：
- Book 1: 《The Power of Reliable Partners》. After two years of interviews (2018.11~2020.10), it explained MEAN WELL's development track and strategic choices. The traditional Chinese version was successfully released on 2020/12/12, and the English and simplified Chinese versions were also launched.
- Book 2: 《The Power of Pursuing Great》 is expected to be released when MEAN WELL's revenue reaches USD 2 Billion. (In progress, the performance in 2022 reached USD 1493 M. It is estimated that it will reach USD 2B in 2024/Q4, and the book will be released globally).
- Book 3: 《The Power of Sustainable Development》 will be published after 3 things have been done.
- Have 100 ESG companies.
- SDG Group's consolidated revenue exceeds USD 5 Billion.
- Have more than 2 companies listed, and the combined market value exceeds USD 10 Billion.
- Have 100 ESG companies.

At last, I will set an example with the successor team to establish a system and lay the foundation for the sustainable development of SDG Group in the future. When faced with sudden challenges(such as the COVID-19 epidemic), it is like the automatic driving of an airplane after reaching an altitude of 30,000 feet, and the next generation can successfully take over the baton. I also look forward to seeing the release of the third book!
